Hundreds of toys donated to families in need

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY)- The holiday season just got brighter for many families in Imperial County.

Over four hundred toys were donated to local organizations, thanks to the partnership between Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia and the local union group IBEW 569 for electricians. 

Assemblymember Garcia said every child deserves to open a present during Christmas.

" It's really about making sure that every child this Christmas with these holidays don't go without a surprise, a gift. Something that they can take away knowing that their family and the people in the community who serve them really care for them and appreciate (them). So for us, it'll be an opportunity to just say thank you."

The organizations were chosen for their work with families in need throughout various parts of the Imperial Valley.
