6 Chinese nationals found in moving truck’s false wall in San Ysidro Port of Entry

SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT)-A man was arrested at the San Ysidro Port of Entry on November 7 after Customs and Border Protection found six people hiding inside his vehicle.

NBC News in San Diego reports that officers discovered an alleged human smuggling attempt involving six Chinese nationals who were concealed inside a fake wall of a moving truck.

Reports said the 23-year-old driver U.S. citizen arrived at the border when a CBP officer noticed the rear door of the moving truck was slightly open.

After officers spoke to the driver, a K-9 team alerted the officers to the vehicle.

According to NBC News, after officers opened the truck's rear wall apart, they discovered one person. However, after removing the fake wall, officers found five additional Chinese nationals.

The driver was taken to Metropolitan Correctional Center for criminal proceedings, and the six Chinese nationals will face pending immigration proceedings, CBP said.
