Extreme temperatures energy saving tips

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The triple digit temperatures are not going anywhere anytime soon. It is always best to know what you can do to save some energy and money in these hot summer months.

According to APS, the best way to save some energy is by bumping up your thermostat a couple of degrees before leaving your home, closing all your curtains and blinds, using shade screens outside your windows if possible and use your ceiling fans. But remember to turn them off when leaving the room.

Another great time is to learn when are your peak and off peak hours are so you know when to use your appliances like dishwasher, dryer and washer.
