FBI Phoenix offers $30,000 reward in connection to Amberly Mendoza case

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The FBI Phoenix Field Office is offering a $30,000 reward in connection to the Amberly Mendoza case.

Mendoza, 10, was found dead in the bedroom of her home in Yuma on March 9, 1996, according to FBI Phoenix.

While there wasn't any signs of forced entry to the home, the screen to her first-floor bedroom window was removed.

Both FBI Phoenix and the Yuma Police Department (YPD) determined Mendoza was sexually assaulted and murdered, with the cause of death being asphyxiation.

FBI Phoenix is offering a reward of up to $30,000 for information which could lead to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved in Mendoza's death.
