Negotiations ongoing in shooting case

(KYMA, KECY) - Negotiations are ongoing between a Yuma man and the state over a shooting that happened last August.

18-year-old Keith Simmons appeared out of custody in court. Simmons is being charged with four felony counts including two aggravated assault charges.

He is accused of shooting a 19-year-old man in a desert area around South Avenue 8 1/2 E.

Both Simmons and the victim's family continue to try resolving this matter out of court.

His next appearance will be on May 16.
