Minor taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center after being shot

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Police Department responded to an aggravated assault on 11th Street and Avenue A.

On Sunday, May 1st, an investigation was carried out after a 17- year-old male was shot and taken to YRMC for non-life threatening injuries.

Reports indicate that a residence and vehicle received damage from gunfire; shell casings were found at the scene.

The suspect fled before officers arrived.

No suspect has been identified and officials are still investigating at this time.
