Jury selection begins for Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell

NEW YORK (KYMA, KECY) - Jury selection begins in New York Monday in the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, two years after the jailhouse suicide of Jeffrey Epstein.

Federal prosecutors allege Maxwell was Epstein's accomplice in a sex trafficking conspiracy involving under-age girls.

The 59-year-old international socialite has denied any role in Epstein's crimes.

Maxwell was arrested in July 2020 at a remote property in New Hampshire and is being held in a Brooklyn federal jail.

The sex trafficking trial is expected to last about six weeks but she could face another court date next year on charges of perjury.
