Fiery attempted robbery captured on camera

Man tried to hold up clerk using lighter and accelerant

FORT WORTH, Tex. (KYMA, KECY) - Police in Fort Worth, Texas are looking for the culprit behind an unusal attempted robbery.

Newly released security video shows the story in dramatic detail. You can see a man walk into a hotel lobby. He comes up to the window, pulls out a bottle, and sprays some sort of liquid through the slot. The suspect then pulls out a lighter, and gestures towards the cash drawer. When the clerk doesn't respond, he ignites the accelerant, creating a brief fire ball. You can see the clerk dart out of the way of the flames just in time.

The man then leaves the hotel without any cash. Exterior cameras catch him climbing into what looks like a white Honda. Police hope the added attention surrounding the dramatic video will help them catch the suspect quickly.
