Death toll from virus passes 200

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma County health officials reported only 46 new cases of coronavirus Wednesday, compared to nearly 300 just the day before.

Testing in the county has slowed. New statistics from the Yuma County Public Health District (YCPHD) show only 172 more people have been screened. That could explain the low number of positive results.

Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) says it's discharged 14 more patients, and moved two more out of coronavirus intensive care.

Health officials also reported five more deaths from coronavirus Wednesday. So far the virus has killed 203 Yuma County residents.
