Recovered cases outpace new cases of coronavirus in Imperial County
Positive cases top 8,900
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - For the first time, fewer people tested positive for coronavirus than were considered recovered from the illness.
The Imperial County Public Health District (ICPHD) confirmed 120 new cases Thursday. However, it moved 122 patients onto the list of those considered recovered.
More good news - active cases, meaning those requiring medical attention, declined by 7. Also, nearly 1,300 more people were screened for the illness.
Health officials also reported five more deaths from coronavirus, bringing the countywide total to 170.
