Imperial County worker tests positive for coronavirus
County administration building closed as a precaution
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - A positive test result has forced Imperial County to shut down its administrative offices.
The county says health officials notified them of the worker's test results Monday. Although the employee only worked in a specific area, county leaders decided to close the entire building for disinfection. Normal operations will resume Tuesday.
Imperial County is releasing no details on the infected employee. It does say the worker is self-isolating and following medical guidance. The statement goes on to say:
The County of Imperial is prohibited from releasing more information about this employee. While we recognize the public may have questions, it is necessary that the privacy of employees be respected.
