Performer lives inside furnished billboard above Sunset Boulevard

LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA) - A performer began living inside a furnished billboard above Sunset Boulevard Thursday as part of a promotional campaign for Netflix's upcoming film, "The Last House."

The installation, located in the area of Sunset Boulevard and Selma Avenue, featured a furnished living room built into the billboard about 30-feet above the ground.

Through Saturday, the performer will interact with commuters and passersby using a whiteboard while remaining inside the enclosed space.

The performer is often waving to people below and carrying out everyday activities inside the billboard.

According to Netflix, the installation is intended to recreate the premise of "The Last House," in which a family of four becomes trapped inside its home with no way to escape while struggling to survive as food and other resources dwindle and a mysterious threat keeps them confined.

The film, which premiered Friday, stars Greta Lee and Wagner Moura and was directed by Louis Leterrier.
