Smoke from wildfire in California smothers sky

CALAVERAS COUNTY, Calif. (CBS, KYMA) - Smoke filled the sky above northern California as the Gann wildfire rapidly spread after igniting Monday.

Video posted to Facebook by Yesenia Rivera shows the red glow of the blaze beneath a wall of dark smoke in Calaveras County.

The fire grew to 3,000 acres by Tuesday morning, prompting immediate evacuation orders, and by Thursday, it had burned 10,373 acres.

According to fire officials, the wildfire mobilized 2,715 personnel and was 26% contained, as of Thursday.
