Dog in California returns to its family after running away due to fireworks

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - A California family was looking for their lost dog since it bolted from its home on July 4 due to nearby fireworks.

They looked and looked for the dog with no luck.

That is until the Tulare County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) got involved, and that's when a deputy found the dog named Fig, and gave it a ride home, where it was welcomed with open arms.

TCSO released the video saying, "Community policing is about more than making arrests. It's about serving our community in every way we can, including helping reunite families with the pets they love. Welcome home, Fig."
