Father of Spencer Pratt steps in to fight house fire

LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA) - The father of defeated L.A. mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt personally tried to fight a house fire in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles.

William Pratt says he was driving to his own property Friday when he passed the burning home, just a couple blocks from Palisades High School.

He says he tried hosing down the home but it was too late.

The L.A. Fire Department confirms Pratt was the one to call 9-1-1.

The official cause is still under investigation.

The Pratts lost their home in the Palisades Fire, prompting Pratt to run for Mayor of Los Angeles, where he lost in the primary election early last month.
