California teachers protest in response to school board rejecting textbooks

TEMECULA, Calif. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Teachers protested after the school board rejected textbooks for elementary school social studies.

The protests occurred on Tuesday.

The Board President Dr. Joseph Komrosky referred to murdered gay rights activist, Harvey Milk, as a "pedophile."

Teachers, however, said the textbook doesn't even mention Milk, who was the first openly gay man elected to public office.
