Sacramento experiences sloppy roads on Sierra Highways

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Roads in Sacramento remain a challenge following a strong winter storm.

Snow blanketed Sierra Highways and Interstate 80 remains closed to traffic due to hazardous conditions.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and road crews also reported slick roads in the area.

Officials across the state are strongly advising the public to avoid traveling due to the extent of impacts from the weather.

The CHP and Caltrans say they have no estimated time for reopening the roadway
