Vice President Harris visits LA for Small Business Saturday

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (NBC) - On this Small Business Saturday, Vice President Kamala Harris is encouraging everyone to shop local.

"Small businesses are the backbone of who we are in communities. It's the economic backbone. But small business leaders and owners... they're not only business leaders, they're civic leaders, they're community leaders, they hire locally, they role model, they look out for the community. They're part of the culture and fabric of communities. I love small businesses."

She made a stop at a shop in Los Angeles, and bought a few items she spotted during her tour of the store.

Before leaving, she praised small businesses that play a vital role in every community.
