Three injured after small plane crashes into a home in Phoenix
PHOENIX (NBC, KYMA) - Three people were injured after a small plane crashed into a north Phoenix home Wednesday morning.
Fire officials say after taking off from Deer Valley Airport, the Piper PA-28 experienced a mechanical issue, and crashed into the house on the way back to the airport.
Witnesses say the plane hit one home, before falling into the backyard of another home.
Three people were hurt in the crash, an instructor and student on the plane, and one person in the home.
"Fortunately, everyone [involved is] in stable condition[, and were] being transported [to the hospital] for precautionary measures," said Capt. Todd Keller with the Phoenix Fire Department.
Fire officials say the scene is under control and an investigation into what cause the crash will take some time.
"I think it's going to be a lengthy process...The FAA is on their way here, so we can talk to them. They'll get witness accounts," Capt. Keller shared.
