Border Patrol agents carry out rescue mission in Imperial County wilderness

The migrant rescued was found in good condition

OCOTILLO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Calexico station discovered a lost person in the Jacumba Wilderness and alerted El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents about the situation.

Agents were given GPS coordinates to the last known location of the individual and searched the area around 8 p.m. on Friday.

The person was found approximately 40 minutes later in the mountain region close to the U.S./Mexico border of Ocotillo.

After examination, the person was found to be in healthy condition and no medical assistance was needed.

It was also determined that the person did not have the proper documentation to be present inside the United States.

They were then taken in for processing.
