Small plane makes hard landing at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport

PHOENIX (NBC, KYMA) - A small plane made a hard landing at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Wednesday night.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 7 p.m. Mountain Time for reports of a small plane that experienced a hard landing.

They arrived to find a small general aviation aircraft with five individuals on board. The aircraft landed safely and no one on board was injured.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport issued a statement saying, "The South Runway is currently closed until the aircraft can be moved. There is no impact to operations, and we are not anticipating any flight delays."

It is unclear what caused the "belly landing" to happen.
