One defendant dropped from Jane Doe lawsuit

(CNN, KYMA) - One of the men accused in the civil lawsuit tied to an alleged gang rape at Cornell University is being dropped from litigation.

The woman who filed the lawsuit claimed the defendant was president of the Chi Phi Fraternity where the sexual assault allegedly took place.

The defendant was never accused of participating in the assault.

In addition, the man's lawyer said his client was not president of the fraternity at the time of the attack.
