President Trump hosts hunters and outdoor industry leaders at White House

WASHINGTON (NBC, KYMA) - President Donald Trump hosted hunters and outdoor industry leaders at the White House Thursday night, announcing new steps to expand access to public lands and waterways.

He hosted more than 100 hunters, anglers and outdoor industry leaders for dinner at the Rose Garden.

President Trump signed executive orders aimed at expanding hunting and fishing opportunities, opening more public lands and waterways, and easing regulatory barriers.

He also promoted hunting among young Americans and Veterans.

During his remarks, Trump highlighted White House renovations, including a new helipad, saying the building was in really bad shape when he took office.

Trump also touted his administration's support for the second amendment, accusing the Biden Administration of waging an absolute war on gun owners.
