Shooting at Westwood Hills Elementary School in Virginia

WAYNESBORO, Va. (CBS, KYMA) - The Augusta County Sheriff's Office says all students, teachers and staff have been safely evacuated from Westwood Hills Elementary School and are at a designated staging area with members of law enforcement.

Officials are working to clear the school, and a reunification process to get students back with their families will begin as soon as it has been declared safe and the process is logistically possible.

More information regarding the reunification process will be released as soon as it is available.

For safety reasons, all community members are asked to avoid the area around the school until further notice as this is still an active law enforcement response.
