Country music icon Dolly Parton dealing with health issues

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (NBC, KYMA) - Dolly Parton missed the unveiling of a new ride at her amusement park "Dollywood" in Tennessee due to health issues.

The attraction called the "Nightflight Expedition," is a hybrid roller coaster and whitewater rapids ride, Dollywood's most ambitious and expensive ride to date.

In a video played at the grand opening, the 11 time Grammy-winning country music icon apologized for not appearing in person, saying she wasn't able to attend due to doctor's orders.

Last September, Parton also postponed her Las Vegas residency due to health challenges.

Parton still performs on occasion, but hasn't toured since her 2016 "Pure & Simple" tour.
