Firefighters in Colorado stop brush fire

STERLING RANCH, Colo. (NBC, KYMA) - Firefighters in Colorado were able to stop a brush fire before it caused damage to homes over the weekend.

Video from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office shows just how close a grass fire got to causing major damage in Sterling Ranch, Colorado.

Firefighters were able to stop the embers just as they neared the homes.

In their social media post, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office credited the first responders' preparation, saying, "The quick response is only possible because of the swift calls and awareness from our amazing community."
