Tracking more June heat for the rest of the week

Weather Authority/ KYMA

Triple-digit heat will be staying put in the Desert Southwest for the rest of the week and into the weekend. I am tracking breezier conditions and a few clouds for the weekend.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Today is the warmest day of the week as highs are nearing that 110 mark. We also have moderate heat risks across the Desert Southwest, so remember to practice heat safety.

Take a look at our expected highs this afternoon.

That heat will carry into our evening as we will stay in the triple-digits through 7 pm. It will be a toasty evening ahead even after the sun goes down.

Tracking above-normal temperatures and dry conditions for the rest of the week across the region.

Temperatures will cool down just a little bit later in the weekend and early next week to near average levels, but still staying in the triple-digits.

Also, tracking breezier conditions, with gusts 20-30 MPH Friday-Sunday. We may see a few passing clouds in the days ahead, but we will remain dry as no rain is expected.

This triple-digit heat will be sticking around. So remember to practice heat safety throughout the day. And remember to check on your pets and NEVER leave anyone in a parked car at any part of the day.
