President Trump directs DHS to pay all employees

(NBC, KYMA) - All Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees are getting paid as the partial government shutdown drags on.

On Friday, President Donald Trump signed a memo directing the DHS to pay all of its employees. The memo authorizes paychecks for more than 35,000 employees at agencies.

This includes those at FEMA, the Coast Guard and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency as they have gone without pay since funding stopped on February 14.

President Trump signed a similar memo last week directing DHS to pay TSA workers, who had also gone without paychecks, as passengers endured significant delays at airports across the country.
