Four people dead, along with alleged killer, following knife attack

QUEENS, N.Y. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - At least four people are dead, as well as their alleged killer, following a gruesome knife attack in Queens early Sunday morning.

This all began when a 911 call reported an assault in progress at a Far Rockaway home.

Two responding officers encountered a man at the scene who pulled on knife on them, slashing one officer in the neck and the other in the head.

Officials said one of the officer managed to fire a shot and strike the suspect and he later died at the hospital.

Investigation ongoing

Back at the scene, more officers found a young girl in front of the home with injuries. However, she did not survive.

An additional four victims, three dead and one alive, were found inside the residence after the New York Fire Department (FDNY) crews extinguished a fire that the suspect had allegedly set.

Officials said it's believed all four victims died from stab wounds.

An investigation is ongoing.
