FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Temps rapidly increasing as conditions dry out

KYMA

The Desert Southwest is now well removed from storm activity as skies clear up and conditions become dry

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Dry and quiescent weather is slated for the next several days.

A warming trend is expected through the remainder of this week with highs climbing to near record levels by this weekend.

High temperatures will reach 111-116 degrees across the lower deserts Saturday-Monday.

Due to the anticipated increase to a Major heat risk, an Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for most of south-central Arizona on Friday and has been expanded to include the entire forecast area from Saturday-Monday.
