EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Director of Behavioral Health Services Leticia Plancarte-Garcia announced the $12,213,731 grant funding that will help with projects that will help support infrastructure.
“This funding will give us the opportunity to remodel and upgrade two of our county-owned facilities so that we can expand capacity and increase access to services for children, youth and their families,” stated Plancarte-Garcia.
Projects such as the outpatient clinic for children located in El Centro at 120 N. 8th Street was awarded $8,126,915.
This will help maximize office space, plumbing, electricity, roof, and covered patio.
The second project will remodel and expand the space in the current mental health triage located at 202 N. 8th Street.
This new remodel will help expand the area to help equipment the entire facility with appropriate equipment and fixture at approximately 1542 sq. ft. and $4,085,816 will go towards this project.
These investments will ensure the proper care provided to patients by expanding better needs of vulnerable populations who face the greatest barriers to access.
A variety of care placement options can provide a vital off-ramp from intensive behavioral health service settings, helping transition individuals, including the most vulnerable, to community living.
