Yuma man charged with murder outside bar heading to trial

YPD

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma man charged with murdering a man at a local bar back in February of 2021 is heading to trial, with dates finally set.

33-year-old Jerome Hall will be facing a jury trial, after an intense testimony from the victim's wife.

The victim, Tyrone Hall, had just become a father shortly before his death.

His wife expressing she was upset the trial kept getting pushed back.

"It's an open wound, when your daughter has to kiss the urn of her dad if she wants a kiss from him, it's been two years and still no justice," she told the court.

Attorney Jose Padilla tried to delay the trial again.

He said the security footage photos weren't clear enough to warrant a conclusion on his client's guilt.

He said the difference in clarity could change his client's charge from murder to manslaughter.

Padilla asked for more time to consult with experts to view the photos in a clearer light, but the new judge didn't buy it.

She set the trial date for early June.
