San Luis opens up Christmas tree recycling program

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Christmas may be in the rear-view mirror but you can still give another gift by recycling your Christmas tree.

The City of San Luis' Christmas tree recycling program starts today at the Public Works yard.

You can bring your natural tree to the yard Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

If you're planning to recycle your tree, there are a couple of rules you should know.

"A few things to remember we only accept natural trees all the artificial trees will not be accepted also when you bring then in remove all decorations wires hooks, ornaments those types of things before you drop them off," says San Luis Public Works Project Manager, Manuel Hernandez.

The program runs through January 20 and again, is located at the San Luis Public Works yard.
