DeSantis Looking Strong Against Trump in New Polls

A slew of polls you may have missed show trump getting a run for his money for the GOP nomination in 2024. We all wondered if Ron DeSantis's moment in the sun after a strong election victory would soon pass. But 7 weeks later, the Florida governor is still looking strong

Yougov has DeSantis at 45% with trump at 43%. In a general election, Trump and Biden are tied, despite the immigration crisis happening. DeSantis, however, beats the incumbent president by 4 points.  The Economist had DeSantis at 8 points ahead of trump. A slew of other candidates are also looking at the GOP nod, with former vice president Mike Pence and former ambassador Nikki Haley as the two coming closest to jumping in. Still, this may narrow down to a two man race quite quickly. No candidate against Trump other than DeSantis polls above single digits.
