KYMA

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A 21-year-old died in an Off Highway Vehicle accident that happened around the area of Avenue D and County 20th Street yesterday.

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) says they responded to the accident that happened on Sunday around 5:20 p.m.

Deputies say a Can-Am Maverick X3 with a driver and passenger were driving in the desert terrain when the driver lost control during a turn.

YCSO says the vehicle then rolled and came to a rest, pinning the driver who had been ejected.

The driver was identified as Kenia Pardo Arreola, 21, from Yuma, Arizona, and was pronounced dead at the scene says YCSO.

The passenger wore a seatbelt and didn't sustain their injuries, however, the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt or helmet says YCSO.

This case is under investigation, YCSO says alcohol doesn't seem to be a factor in the accident.

If you have information about this case, contact YCSO at 928-783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous or at yumacountysheriff.org.
