American STARH Foundation brings holiday cheer to local veterans
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Our Yuma community comes together once again.
This time to bring joy to local veterans during this festive time of year.
Frank Kucowski served in the Airforce for over 20 years.
And today, the Yuma community gave back to him, thanking him for his service this holiday season.
“I think it’s really nice that they support our community, support the VA. It’s a warm feeling. It's been a long road for me this year and I’m just glad I made it to the end of the year,” said Kucowski.
This is all thanks to the American STARH foundation, helping local veterans with anything they can.
“To give them gifts, to give them cookies, cakes, brownies, bring a little cheer," said American STARH foundation founder, Blade Anthony.
I found out they gave us permission so I called Santa and Mrs. Clause and they said sure we’d be happy to come home, so here we are at the new Arizona State Veterans home,” said Anthony.
The founder of American STARH says the least he could do is help spread a little Christmas cheer to fellow veterans.
“As a way of thanking them and saying happy new year, Happy Hanukkah Merry Christmas. Thank you so much for what you’ve done for our country,” said Anthony.
One Marine Corps veteran says this Christmas celebration made his time sacrificing his life for our country, that much more worth it.
“We are celebrating Christmas. Oh I think it’s the most wonderful thing in the world," said Bob Schelenburg.
