Austin, TX- The cases against Alex jones in Connecticut and Texas can proceed to the appellate court system.

A federal judge has lifted an automatic stay that had been placed in Jones' bankruptcy case.

That stay prevented judgments from being entered and appeals from being filed.

Jones' attorney says he hoped to settle with the plaintiff families in bankruptcy court, but the parties agreed instead to see the litigation through the appellate route.

The "Infowars" host was present for the hearing via video but did not speak.

Jones has been ordered to pay one-point-four billion dollars to the families of sandy hook victims.

A bankruptcy hearing is scheduled for January 20th.
