85350 Sports Bar and Pizzaria reopens for food only

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - 85350 Sports Bar and Pizzaria is back open in Somerton, for food only after their liquor license was suspended last month.

In late October, the sports bar closed down after a bar fight.

The State of Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control says Somerton police were dispatched to the bar for a fight between two men with guns.

The Department of Liquor says the licensee failed to take steps to intervene by notifying law enforcement officials or otherwise to prevent or break up an act of violence occurring at the bar.

Sports bar owner Manny Valenzuela says customers were disappointed after learning the liquor license was taken away.

“It was an unfortunate incident, you know our customers they knew, they heard, obviously small town, anything bad here in this town always speaks like wildflower unfortunately, and they were disappointed you know because this is now of the only spots, we are the only spot here in Somerton and a lot of our loyal customers really missed it,” said Valenzuela.

For now, there’s no word on when or if the business will get its liquor license back, but if you’re looking for a bite to eat, the restaurant has now re-opened.
