Thanksgiving dinner for seniors in Calexico

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Senior citizens and those without a home also enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner in Calexico.

The neighborhood house of Calexico prepared more than 700 meals for this special day.

Turkey, mashed potato, and refreshments were served.

The idea is to make the elderly feel like they are part of the community.

"We have a table for them so they can share with other people. we served them as a guest they are our guests today and provide the food that is free without charge and they are our guests today," says Neighborhood House Homeless Services Supervisor Marcela Gallardo.

The seniors enjoyed their meals and were very thankful for the food and the service they received today.
