Serious injury collision early Tuesday morning

KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Through a press release, the Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) received a report of a single vehicle rollover collision.

Accordingly, this occurred on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at approximately 2:14am in the 4100 block of E. County 14th Street.

Furthermore, the initial investigation revealed a Silver 2017 Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on E. County 14th Street.

Concurrently, the vehicle traveled across to the opposite lane, through a fence, and became airborne.

At the same time, the vehicle rolled over, causing the driver to jump out the driver seat.

Afterwards, the vehicle ultimately came to rest in a citrus grove.

Aftermath

When YCSO arrived, they spotted the driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old male.

As a result of the crash, the driver sustained critical injuries.

Fortunately, Rural Metro responded and transported the driver to the Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC).

From there, YRMC flew the driver to a Phoenix area hospital.

Ongoing investigation

At this time, the case is under investigation, and alcohol appears to be a factor in the collision.

As always, if anyone has any information regarding the collision, then contact YCSO at (928) 783-4427.

You can contact 78-CRIME if you prefer to remain anonymous.
