Three people shot in Yuma Thursday

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) Yuma County deputies are investigating three murders, all three discovered in one day.

Deputies responded to a shooting on Mojave lane Thursday around 4:40 pm.
We spoke with one neighbor who lives across the street from the home where the shooting happened.

Saying she arrived at her house when the street was blocked off by deputies.

"I wasn't here, but when I came home, it was when the deputies were outside, and they were kind to us," said the neighbor.

Deputies have not yet released the victim's identity, but neighbors tell us only one man lived at the home, he was in his mid 40's.

Maria Roman lives on the same street and says she knew him.

"I know that guy because he went to school with my daughters and he helped me here at home doing plumbing when something broke and he helped me with car mechanics and he came to cut the yard for me, you name it,” said Roman.

When deputies located the victim, they tried to save the person's life.

Rural Metro Fire Department then took the victim to yuma regional medical center.

"There were life saving measures that were performed so when he was transported, they continued to assist him, but unfortunately, he did pass away," said Tania Pavlak, YCSO public affairs specialist.

And within ten minutes of this murder, on the other side of town near Somerton, the Yuma County Sheriff's Office and the Somerton Cocopah Fire Department received a call about two bodies near county 13th Street and Avenue F.

Both unidentified victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

It is still unknown at this time if the cases are related or if there are any suspects.

So if you have information on who could have killed any of these people contact YCSO.

Or call 78-crime to remain anonymous.
