Man pleads guilty for assaulting a CBP officer

Cesar Alejandro Avendano-Soto from Mexico pleaded guilty for assaulting a Customs and Border Protection officer that caused injury

TUCSON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A 21-year-old man pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting a federal officer that resulted in a bodily injury on September 16, 2022.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office District of Arizona, Cesar Alejandro Avendano-Soto is also scheduled to be sentenced on January 6, 2023.

Avendano-Soto struggled with a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer and intentionally threw the officer to the ground that caused a bodily injury, said the press release.

This incident occurred at the DeConcini Port of Entry on March 24, 2020
