Semi-truck and motorcycle crash on State Route 111 on September 14

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), a semi-truck struck a motorcycle on State Route 111 on September 14, the motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 40-year-old man was driving a 1987 Honda motorcycle eastbound on a private dirt road west of State Route 111 and headed towards the direct path of the semi-truck, said CHP.

Guadalupe Diaz-Espinoza, a 31-year-old man was driving a 2019 Peterbuilt Semi-Truck with a utility trailer attached on State Route 111 southbound north of Beal Road and struck the 40-year-old man said CHP.

The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash scene, according to CHP.

CHP has mentioned that the motorcyclist was not wearing any safety gear or equipment and the semi-truck driver was wearing his seatbelt during the time of the crash.
