El Centro Border Patrol rescue sixteen migrants in the mountains

16 migrants lost in the Jacumba Wilderness region and were rescued on Thursday

OCOTILLO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro Border Patrol agents rescued about sixteen lost undocumented immigrants in the Jacumba Wilderness region on Thursday.

Around 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, El Centro Border Patrol were notified of sixteen individuals lost in the wilderness.

Agents located the group at 2:32 a.m. about one mile north of the U.S./Mexico border and were found to be safe with no medical attention.

The group were found with no proper documents to be in the U.S. legally and were taken into custody for processing at the El Centro Sector Processing Center.
