San Diego man arrested for hiding over 500 pounds of illegal fireworks

San Diego County Sheriff's Office

SAN DIEGO (KYMA, KECY/CNN) - A man from California is facing charges for stashing a large amount of illegal fireworks in his garage.

This is happening way too much. It's scary. It's scary to know that your neighbors could be up to something," says a neighbor, Kathleen Ingraham.

Natanael Garcia, 21, was arrested by Sheriff's deputies on Saturday after following up on reports from neighbors hearing fireworks.

Several squads were called in with a search warrant.

"When the bomb squad showed up, I was like, 'Ok, something's going on," continued Ingraham.

Garcia reportedly has been warned about the fireworks before by a neighbor but will now be facing a misdemeanor charge for selling fireworks, which are illegal in San Diego county.
