Two arrested for attempting to smuggle $132K worth of meth under car seats

SALTON CITY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro Border Patrol says two people were arrested for smuggling illegal drugs through a checkpoint.

At about 4:40 p.m., agents referred a Volkswagen Tiguan to secondary inspection with a K-9 detection team.

Agents found sealed packs of meth hidden under the driver and passenger seats.

Two U.S. citizens were arrested, a 21-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man, with 60 pounds of meth seized.
