Katie Hobbs Gubernatorial Campaign
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - With less than two months until the Arizona Primary Election, Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate, Katie Hobbs, speaks with us about why she should be our next Governor.
Katie Hobbs, is a native Arizonian politician and social worker who has served as Arizona Secretary of State of Arizona since January 2019.
“I have been all over the state talking to voters and what I’m hearing from them is that they are ready for new leadership in our state," said Hobbs.
Hobbs is a member of the Democratic party, serving in our State Capitol from 2011 to 2019 and now secretary of state.
Hobbs says she's worked hard to protect the integrity of our elections, a topic of major conversation in 2022.
The new message from Hobbs, "Lets move on and tackle the 'real' issues in our state.
“We need to move on and tackle the real challenges that Arizonians are facing, funding our failing schools, tackling affordability and addressing our state’s water crisis,” said Hobbs.
Hobbs also wants better immigration reform, saying Washington isn't doing enough.
“And so as Governor of Arizona, working with our Members of Congress to get a comprehensive reform enacted would be a priority, but as Governor I would work in coordination with the local border communities,” said Hobbs.
And with the Primary Election taking place August 2nd, Hobbs is confident she'll take the win.
Already preparing for the General, to face the winning Republican.
They’ve seen me as a battle tested statewide leader and so we are focused on the General Election and what we need to do to win in November,” said Hobbs.
The Arizona Primary Election takes place on August second, and the General on November 8th.
