Child abuse prevention pinwheels placed in Somerton

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - National Child Abuse Prevention Month is an annual observance in the United States dedicated to raising awareness and preventing child abuse.

April has been designated Child Abuse Prevention Month in the United States since 1983.

On Tuesday, April 12, Amberly's Place put up a pinwheel garden in partnership with the Regional Center for Border Health in Somerton.

The pinwheel is the national symbol for child abuse prevention because by its nature, the pinwheel represents playfulness, joy and childhood.
