Lawn Equipment Exchange Program now open for registration in Imperial County

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Imperial Valley residents will soon be able to exchange their gas-powered lawn mowers for other discounted equipment.

The 7th annual Lawn Equipment Exchange Program is open for registration to those with proof of residency in the Imperial Valley.

This program is also meant to bring awareness and cleaner air by trading old equipment with news tools that won't pollute the air.

“In the past six years, the ICAPCD has successfully reduced over 234 pounds of hydrocarbons and over 1,724 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions. In addition to taking advantage of this amazing offer, Valley residents will also benefit their community by eradicating the air pollution that old gas mowers produce," said Air Pollution Control Officer Matt Dessert.

Residents can register here or call 1(818) 400-2971 by noon on April 29.
