COVID-19 global deaths pass 6 million

(KYMA, KECY/CBS) - The United States has reached 1 million people who had died from COVID-19, adding to global Coronavirus deaths total of over 6 million.

Johns Hopkins University reported on the numbers related to Coronavirus.

“It’s a hard number to fathom because these are deaths. This isn’t just a wide range of infections, these are people who themselves and family members who have lost a life that’s precious," said Dr. Stuart Ray of Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Coronavirus cases have begun to fall, as well as hospitalizations and overall deaths.

Some areas such as New York City are lifting their mask mandates and others are no longer requiring proof of vaccination.

While the U.S. seeing a decline in cases, Coronavirus is still something to be warry of in other areas such as Hong Kong.
